I switched back to the passenger seat when i navigated for my sponsor Sean Hickey in his 1600 20v TwinCam engined RWD Ford Fiesta Mk1 for the Kerry rally sprint held in Tralee race course, we were given number 71 out of 95 starters and i was looking forward to a good days craic. The first of 3 timed runs didnt go to plan and we accidentally took a short cut and got a 1min penalty which dropped us away down the order. We gave it socks on the 2nd run and set a time of 2min 10secs which was very respectable and a slight overshoot on the last run left us with 2min 14secs on the last run. we ended up 65th Overall in the finish and we had a mighty days craic. i also experienced making my own pacenotes for the first time and thankfully they worked out great. Brian O Mahony won it overall in a metro 6r4, Jimmy Deane was quickest 2WD and the top KDMC finisher was David Brosnan in his Civic. Well done to Richard Talbot COC and Kerry Motor Club for putting together a well run event.
